I believe a live pump from a Stage II Super M will bolt right up to a Stage I (early production, non-live hydraulic) Super M engine. No changing of the engine front cover, timing gears or distributor would be required. The only issue might be using the former belly pump assembly as the reservoir due to it's small capacity. Depending upon the volume of the remote cylinder(s) you plan to use, the belly reservoir may not hold enough oil to operate the system.
