I'm not looking for an argument But both engines do have 5 main bearings and both engines have the very same crankshaft ,I know ,I just spent an hour in 96 degree heat taking the pan off the gas engine and they both have the same casting numbers.I would rather have a diesel engine even with weak head gasgets,I have had 3 , 282's and liked all of them ,560 656 and an old junky 706 and never had a head gasget blow till now on this 560 I put a head gasget on it and then it busted a piston and it threw a rod outside of the block .
