Surprisingly the pulling sled DID manage to stall that steamer. What happened is the steamer was gaining speed near the end of the pull when the boiler began priming - sending hot water up with the steam into the cylinder. The engineer quickly shut the throttle to avoid damage and everything just stopped. Looked pretty impressive however, first with black smoke then lots of steam out the stack.
