If my failing memory serves me right,your B and my A should have the same engine/bellhousing.That being the case,pull the #1 plug and place your finger over the hole.Crank the engine and soon you feel the compression blow your finger off the plug hole.Slowly crank until the blowing stops.You should be at or very near TDC on #1.Next,remove the hand hole cover from the bottom of the bell housing.Just under the flywheel,you will see an index mark.Look at the bottom edge of the flywheel and you will see a line with 1-4TDC stamped by it.You may need to clean up the flywheel to see it.Once you find the mark,line it up with the index under the flywheel.You are now at #1TDC.You may want to highlite the line on the flywheel with a paint stick so it is easier to find again if needed. When you install the mag,make a mark under the distributor cap on the metal below the #1 tower on the cap.Turn the mag until the rotor points at the mark.You'll feel the impulse spring wind up.Install the mag on the tractor.If you can't line it up and hold the spring,turn the engine backward a little and install the mag.Hand crank the engine and have someone watch the timing marks.The impulse coupling should trip just as the timing marks line up.It might take a couple tries.
