Oldsmobile tried that a few years back and came up with the infamous 5.7 diesel. You'll need a different crank with longer throw to increase the compression, probably different pistons, obviously different head(s) with ports for injectors.... Are the crank bearings strong enuff to support the added forces? (By the way, I had great luck with my 5.7, most were disasters! - you gotta know how to live with a diesel!) You'r better off to replace entire engine with one designed to be a diesel.
