That depends a little on what you call restored. Are you talking a paintjob, new decals, and a tune up. Or are you talking overhauled engine, new tires, new paint, ground up drawbar to radiator restoration. A lot more money involved in the second. An F-20 in my area would cost anywhere from scrap price to $900 to $1200 at the top end depending on what condition it is in. Sounds kind of stupid but when looking a tractor over for value, the tires are the first thing you are going to want to look at. Then its overall mechanical condition. Then completeness. Then paint and decals. Like say an F-20 runs fair, fair tires, and good paint would maybe be around $600. See there is a $300 to $600 difference on what some would call restored and one that is top notch A number 1 redone. Bottom line, look tractor over real good and know what your dollar is buying when your waving your hand at the auction block. Good Luck.

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
