Some people painted those old gray tractors red. I guess just to make the neighbors think the tractor was newer than it really was. lol. The first thing I would do is see if the serial numbers match up. F-20's had serial number on the number plate on tool box. Also stamped into frame rail and on the side of the engine. If these numbers all match up that would be a sure bet on the year. If these numbers are all different then look at the serial number year chart and find out what is going on. It could be that you will find that the engine, frame, and serial number plate are all three from different years. A sure bet that the tractor is a peice together. Regulars and F-20's are basically like sister tractors. They have alot of parts that you can just take off of one and put right on the other one. Pretty convenient for an oldtimer to put a couple F-20's together to make one tractor and then still use that old regular out in the ditch for parts over the years. There are alot of F-20's and regulars that have blended together over the years.
