Jim the PTO is fine. All I had planned to do was remove the retainer and replace the seals. Unfortunately the shaft came out also. It was my fault for not thoroughly cleaning the spline are of the PTO shaft. My problem is trying to get both the shaft and the shifter tube installed and bullseyed into the bearing hole in the back of the transmission.
