You can use any outlet for your application. Originally, the two front outlets were designed for a cultivator, and the third (back) one was for the rear of a cultivator, where you would want a delayed lift cycle, so that the front of the cultivator came out of the ground first. But like I said, any will work. And no, you don't need the belt pulley going.
