Scott: Before I would go too far I would suggest that you get another distributor cap and give that a try. I had the same problem on an old "M" that I was repairing for a guy, two years ago, and it turned out to be the dist. cap. It's a simple check, that is easy to do without any tear down of the engine. If you have too just switch caps with another running tractor and see what happens. I always say to "check the simple things twice."
