Yes, it starts on gas then you switch to diesel. The procedure is: open gas valve under GAS tank on right side, pull the lever on the left side of tractor(not the T/A lever) back until it locks in place, make sure the throttle is in the closed position(shut off0 as soon as you pull that lever back the carb starts to fill with gas, 12 volts goes to coil, and starting valves in engine are opened. Depending on temperature you may want to choke a little if its warm no choke. Depress clutch and turn the key. When she fires up let it run for several minutes, you'll see that oil pressure starts to build. Ok now make sure you have diesel fuel and the valve at bottom of tank is open. After it runs good on gas and you have full oil pressure you QUICKLY push the starting lever back to its original position and at the SAME time pull the throttle down about half way. She'll smoke a bit at first now its running on diesel. Test the TA anyway you wish put it in gear drive somewhere and just quickly pull the TA lever back, you should slow down but NOT slow to a stop. Now to shut her down, make sure the key is still on, then rev the tractor a bit then QUICKLY pull the starting lever forward to lock again and at the SAME time shut the throttle off. Go with engine running and shut the gas tank valve off, let the engine die and once stopped return the starting lever to diesel position, this lets the starting valves cool on their valve seats VERY IMPORTANT. That's it. Some slight variations are permissible. I'll let some of the other fellows describe them. Have fun and good luck. Last note: You can not start the engine directly on diesel you must start on gas first.

The Day Tractor Lovers Dream About - by Angus Crawford. The day started at five o'clock on the morning of Friday, the January 29, 1999. We traveled for six and a half hours to our destination - a little country town with a population of no more then one hundred and fifty people (57 of them being children under the age of thirteen). We arrived hoping to meet up with a man we knew had over one
