I have a 53 SM that I just finished replacing the bushings on the front end. I replaced 2 of the 3, and after a month now, I'm going to retighten the nut on top to see if that solves the little wobble I have now. It is dramatically improved, but now it is looking like while I had it tore apart I should have replaced #3 too. In my opinion, if you are working on the front end, replace the bushings too becuase while you have it all tore apart it would be wise to just put all new in instead of doing it later. Good luck, my final tip being that a friend of mine at my Case IH dealer gave me more tips and information than anybody, because he works on them once or twice a month.
