Murray; If the tractor still has a generator and 6-Volt system, it definitely should be "positive ground"..Easy check is to watch your ammeter,and if goes over considerably on the discharge side when running, then you need to change your ground...and while you're at it, you'll probably have to "polarize" your system at the regulator to get the generator and system to charge correctly...my tractor was purchased with the battery reversed and that's what I had to do to get it to work right. I even had to file the points on the regulator, as the negative ground had "burnt" them in the closed position..every time I turned her off, the battery would discharge...so watch out on yours. LOL Jim
