I think you are right as well Glenn, at the shop I work at cars that act like this get the cold water poured over the coil treatment. They usually start right up and we are 99% sure its the coil. Jeff could try this the next time his tractor dies. There is nothing he can hurt and if it restarts he knows he needs a coil.
