About 10 years ago I had just bought a new 6 volt battery for my Farmall SA, only to have my generator to catch fire about a month later. Generator was beyond rebuilding when I went to auto electric shop. Owner of electric shop said he could use regular GM Delco and change to 6 volt for me. He did this in about 5 minutes, to new alternator. I was talking to another customer and did not watch. He did advise however, that all that was involved was changing one internal wire. Does anyone on forum know how to do this? I now live 1500 miles away from that auto electric shop, and another guy on forum has asked how. I can find out for him, but will probably take two weeks. Just thought someone on here might be quicker.
