Dave, an H with a wide front is not a rare tractor. There were two styles of wide front end available and aftermarket availability was more frequent than factory. Most H's and M's were sold as row crop tractors in the era and intended for scuffling and picking corn and cotton. The narrow front end could be adjusted three different ways giving a variety of row widths thus wide front ends were not particularly desired. The areas that tractors come from for various farming techniques also dictate where you might be more apt to see a wide front end. The row crop turned shorter for scuffling..Mike in Exeter Ontario
