M.L.,what is causing the cracking?...is the muffler clamp too loose\too tight?...have you bumped the muffler against a tree branch or the top of the garage door?...My old M doesn't have that problem but I did break it 7 or 8 years ago backing into the barn...cleared the door in and all the beams untill I turned and caught a support beam...my local welding shop welded up a new pipe nipple into the cast and its been fine ever since...a welder who knows what he is doing can do a goo d job...good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
