I bought one of these new in 1975, equiped much like yours. My tractor always turned 160 HP. I tried several items on fuel for light work. 1200 or so and use an adapter on the 1000 pto to get 540. After the first year the only things my 1066 was started for were Forage harvesrer, 22' disc or cultivator, and large tandem manure spreader. I have seen my 1066 put back 10 Imp. gal per hour. I also had 656D, 560D, 300, and two off sets, they did the lighter work including a 5x16 semi-mount plow. When it comes to a 1066 you will have to match it to work. That is reason used large tractor are cheap to buy, no one wants them. My tractor was economical, I put 800-900 hours per year on heavy work. Some of it on equipment rated for 200 hp.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
