No you don't want to use a deep cycle battery as a starting battery....the deep cycle battery designed to be run down and charged back...that is why they are used on trolling motors....The starter battery is built to produce a lot of power for a short time and be charged ,right back to full charge.......Yes two 6v batteries has more starting power than a 12v battry.....cranking amps doesent matter as long as the two 6's have as much or more than the required needed to start and handle the electrical requirements of the tractor......
