Fuel tank on my 1566 was 42 gallons and I had an auxiliary belly tank (IH option) on it as well, held another 40 gallons and you would have to refill both before 10 hours in the field was up. That tractor averaged 10 gal per hour no matter what you were doing. I was always dissapointed in that 436 engine, the 1256 Dad had was a lot snappier and would walk off and leave that 1566 pulling the same loads plus it used maybe 8 gallons per hour instead of 10. That old 1256 was a classic. Wish we still had it.
