MD valves

How many valves are in a MD?
I don't know that much about the MD. I was at a show this weekend. I was looking at a MD Two guys where talking about how the engine works. One said something about them having 3 valves. I'm thinking it must be 4. 2 to run on Gas and 2 for Diesel.
