After I got done with the engine overhaul last January, My '48 H has had a BAD oil leak from the rear of the engine, but not the rear main seal. I knew the expansion plug that goes in the back of the cam bearings had to be the source. I was so aggrevated I refused to fix it till now. I finally split the tracto and pulled clutch, flywheel and the rear engine plate and what did I find? I put the expansion plug in backwards!! I just don't know how I could have done that, must have had my head up you know where. I also took the time to check out the pilot bearing and throwout bearing and clean the residual oil from the clutch and flywheel. I was mildly suprized that it only took me about 6 hours to do the entire job. It's sure nice to have that oil leak fixed. The moral of the story is : Don't get in a hurry when installing expansion plug!!!

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
