Cub Cadet Battery Spillage

I recently acquired a Cub Cadet 107. All is well, except that battery acid leaks out when the tractor is tilted. This is causing a mess and battery failure unless I continually top it off. Did these tractors have a battery tray and hose which directed leakage onto the ground? (Mine does not) And is there a certain battery type that is less prone to leaking? -- Ken
