Funny how when necessity arises one can find a way. I once needed a method to remove an engine/transmission from a car, and had no hoist, or tree limb stout enough near. After a little thought I drilled holes through the 6x6 supports in the door of my pole barn, some all-thread through the holes, and attached a length of chain across the door. A come-a-long on the chain and I was in business. Only drawback was that it was in the door, but worked great.
