farmall (a) what is correct

I am restoring a 1940 Farmall (a) I also have a 1945 (a) that is for parts.The 1940 was strictly crank start, so I took the electric start bell housing from the 1945 and put on the 1940 that I am restoring.Now I am concerned that this is not correct.Does anyone know if the 1940 model was available with electric start as an option ? or were the 1940 models all hand crank start ? thanks for your help
