I used four threaded rods because the pump is not weighted evenly, the rear end (I think) is much heavier. It would'nt be to bad time wise with a ratcheting box end wrench. I just set the pump under the tractor on the ground and slipped the rods down in the holes in the pump. then I raised them up to the holes in the tranny and threaded them in. I cut the rods so that when I had them in the tranny there was about 2" of thread to start the nut and washer on. When I had raised the pump all the way to the top by threading the nuts a few turns at a time (rotating around the four rods), I backed out the rods one at a time by jamming two nuts together at the bottom of the rod and installing a bolt. I forget who I learned that from, but I saw it on this board.
