I am finishing up my 400 and attempting to stop oil leaks. I decided the gasket between the top of the transmission and the gearbox for the belt drive was leaking. I removed the tinwork, steering wheel/ shaft assembly, fuel tank, and managed to get wiring out of the way and pulled the gearbox. I did a very careful job getting a good seal and put everything back together and cleaned everything well so I could make sure the leak was gone. After running the tractor, sure enough a spot of oil was developing but after all that work I found out the problem had been a bad pipe connection for the hydraulic couplers which is located above the belt pulley gearbox. It was a five minute job to fix the leak that took much longer than that to accomplish. At least it wasn't like I made a mistake that cost lots of money to fix. Had a great day working on the tractor anyway! Bob
