Before you panic, take off the battery and charge it, clean the all the connections behind the starter switch, and make your cables aren't corroded. Take off the ground connection and scrape or wire brush. -- I often have the same problem with my M (mainly because of lack of use)and it's 12 volt-- always works when I do that. Did it yesterday. Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I really don't think you have an engine problem. Your starter could need repair, though.
