Bob, This example is a little off subject of Farmall, But... In 1988 we had a 3306 Cat rebuilt by Cat. This engine was on an irrigation well,.. pumping 1000 gal/min going to a Valley center/pivot, 1/4 mi long sprinkler. Holding 24 psi at the pivot. We got this engine back in time for summer corn watering . June-July-Aug-Sept this well ran 24/7 that summer except for maybe 8 to 10 days (rain) this engine ran hard . Would use 5 gal of oil ever 12 hrs all that summer. Cat said the rings would seat, they did NOT seat at all, Cat came and got it in the fall to put in new rings. For thet had put in chrome rings. They replaced them with cast iron rings! when we got it back the new rings seated in 3 days. To watch this engine run before the ring change there was no noticable smoke at all. For your H I say it needs 20 hrs of hard disking or chiesel plowing. Mowing is not hard enough to seat rings properly. Good luck John A.
