over the years we have tryed severial different turbos on the 282 and 301 motors . a air reaserch for a 1855 oliver or 190 allis dont work to bad , but a holset for a 4cly cummins will really wake one up, as will a airreaserch for a 6080 allis, at some oif the local salvage yards we buy 15- 20 turbo takeoffs a year the turbos are usally 50- 75 bucks, i bought a 560 turbo manifold this spring for 25$ i sold it on yt auction, the parts are out there at a good price , look around , no hurry, it will save you mony, at one time we were getting about 600 hp out of a 282 we had it o ringed with hardened rods a girdle 400 series injecters a inline pump in a 4500 lb 460 , we had twin turbos on it a 4le switzer and a t18a90 air reaserch i sold it to build a 666 with a 436 ,
