Marlem, I am only giving you an opinion based on my knowledge of the 574 and I know nothing of the544. A friend of mine has two 574's and I have considered making him an offer on one of them. They are an excellent utility tractor for the smaller farm. Their fuel consumption is reasonable vs horsepower and both tractors have been very reliable . I have a 584 and I wouldn't give it up and it starts on the coldest Ontario morning in the year..I don't think you would be disappointed with the 574....Mike in Exeter Ontario
