Karl - A 14 mA discharge with the key off is about normal for an alternator. At this rate it will take many MONTHS to drain a good pair of diesel starting batteries. So something else is the problem.

I'd suspect one of the batteries is going bad. Try disconnecting both batteries from ground and from each other next time you shut down. Then before you attempt the next start, take a voltage reading on each battery. If you find a voltage difference greater than about 0.1 volts between the two, suspect the battery with the lower voltage is causing your problem.
