Uh Huh ..what did tractor vet say below ? what you need to look for some where on the back of the bearing shell is STD or .001 , .002 , .010. 020 .this will tell you what size UNDERSIZE bearing was installed .it won't tell you if the correct size was installed .if the crankshaft has ever been reground the UNDERSIZE should be stamped on the throws of the crankshaft somewhere .if you can't find the size on the back of the bearing take the lower bearing shell to a machine shop and let them measure the the thickness in a unworn area and compare it to a new STD bearing and they can determine what you have .what bermuda said about STD would be true only if a standard bearing was installed .often a .001 or .002 is installed to compensate for journal wear without regrinding the crankshaft .that goop you cleaned out of the oil pan has stuff in it that works almost like vale grinding compound .
