There are two different crankshafts for the M. If you measure the thickness of the bearings you can tell what bearings are in you engine. The early crankshafts for standard size is 2.4975 / 2.4985 rod journal and a wall thickness of of the bearing of .1003, for the mains they are 2.7475 / 2.7485 and a wall thickness of .1252. For the late large journal crankshaft the rod journal is 2.700 / 2.7010 and a wall thickness off .0752, and the main journal is 2.8075 / 2.8085 with the wall thickness of .0952. These measurements are out of the Clevite bearing book.
