gas 340 farmall

I recentley purchased a 340 farmall with a 4 cylinder gas engine, a c135 I was wondering if someone could help me out? she seems to be getting to hot when i'm running it for any long period of time and when I go to shut it off it won't shut off right away it will sputter and go on for a while. I can't seem to figure it out, the timing is right on and the cooling system is fine, I was wondering could the carb be the problem if it's not the right one, there is a marvel on it right now thats what came on it. i would like to know what it's supposed to have. If anyone can help me out with this problem it would be great thanks
