what part of serial # is yr of M how to change out an M engine

I have recently bought an M for parts, but have decided that the parts M frame is better than mine. So would like to take the motor out of Mine and put it in the Parts frame. Never having tried anything like this, I need some help!!!!!!! Is this a job an a normal person can do or do I need the help of a wrench man? Also what part of an M serial # will give the yr. built? Thanks in advance for your help. Needing help in Ill. Rog
