These are all sleeved engines: you can get standard rebuild kit with 3" or 3 1/8" pistons and sleeves respectively; or you get an overbore kit that includes thinner sleeves that allows the 3" block to receive 3 1/8" pistons, and the 3 1/8" block to receive 3 1/4" pistons. Some suppliers also have standard or higher compression options. You don't bore these blocks unless you are trying to fit a larger sleeve in an earlier block. The simplest and cheapest upgrade is to use the overbore piston/sleeve kit. Stan(VA).
