If i was you First i would pull the deck plate and the range cover and install a spring loaded park lock , you can get the kit from case ih this will stop the problem of it jumping out of park this kit is not had to install and like RPM said change the hy tran and filter . the rubbing marks on the dip stick are from the dipstick rubbib on the gears this is sorta normal but NEVER pull the dip stick while running and try to put it back in as you just may get it in the moving gear and the it will be tare down time . Also you may need to adjust the linkage of do some rebuilding on it and also do a clutch adjustment and trans brake adj. and dump valve adj. I have fixed many 06 shifting problems over the years and would say that i am the expert on them . I quite counting the number of 706's that i have had after 25 . As far as the smoking can't say as i can not see it unless you are close to me and i come and look .
