Need Farmall Brake Education

Help!! I need an education on repairing my 1950 Framall M brakes. I took the cover off and didn't see any grease. However, the brake band broke, so I need a new one. Does the item( don't know name) the band is connected to go bad? Do the pins come out? If so,how do you do it? What else has to be replaced? How much do the brake bands cost? I would appreciate any help that you can give me.
