JD and all: Not to worry: I'm alive and well, but thanks for checking. With one extra paint day (to repaint the barn door, which had mysteriously turned a crazy shade of pink!) I did get my Super C painted. For the first time out, it really turned out pretty good. I'm in the process now of writing an article for Red Power Magazine about first-time projects for the wrench-impaired and mechanically-challenged! I'll be submitting some photos with the article so have held off posting anything here. I've stumbled through September with too many irons in the fire and apologize for leaving my forum friends out-of-the-loop; you've helped a lot and deserve better than I've been. It was powered by either a high-compression gas engine or a distillate version with lower compression.
