F-12 Pto Shield

I learned something new today, I bought an F-12 today and it has a Pto shield. I have never seen a F-12 or F-14 with one before, of course you could count the # of them I have seen and not take both shoes off ;-) Was a shield included with a new tractor? This one is built like they all should be, nice and big with plenty of room to get in there and attach a pto shaft.

Can anyone tell me more about how common a pto shield is on an F-12? I am wondering if I need to get out more.
