Hi, John. The early LiftAlls on the Hs and Ms were one way, running through hoses in the conventional manner. The Touch Control is just a couple of short throw, two-way cylinders mounted in a block, turning rockshafts. Center of the arc on the rockshafts is not exactly vertical, but it is powered in both directions by the pump- the governor kicks in when moving the rockshafts in either direction, even with no load on them. I'm sure gravity helps (it has to, it's the law) but my ear doesn't detect any difference in the load on the engine when lowering my sickle bar versus running a rockshaft back with no load at all.
