I have recently purchased a a 1946 "M". It's a great tractor but I have to have live hydraulics. The hydraulics on the tractor work good and I would like to leave that system intact. First question, can I find a salvage tractor with a live hydraulic system on it and put that system on my tractor while keeping my system completely intact? How much would a "system" cost me and how hard are they to find? I understand that I have to mount a pump in the area of the Magneto by way of an adapter plate off of a later model tractor. Do they make new pumps off the shelf that will bolt up to this mounting? If I leave the other system in tact, will I have to have a resivor for the new system? How many gallons does this need to be to power most modern acessories?.
