Capt. Minx,

I agree with hmyt_47's ouch. That's pretty spendy for power steering. I've got three tractors and only one has power steering; it's a utility with a loader. I like the non power ones better for going in straight lines -- baling, mowing, plowing, etc. -- the power steering is only worthwhile if you're maneuvering like you would with a loader. Besides, after sitting in front of a computer, your arms need the exercise.

I have a Saginaw on a JD 60, and it's great. The $600 something price of one for my Farmall H struck me as a bit much for my needs and the H's capacity, so I went with a cheaper one cylinder job. But if you're lifting heavy implements, and have the hydraulics to do it, the Saginaw is by far the best aftermarket 3pt you can get -- very strong, easy to adjust and when you compare it side by side to another type, it's easy to see why the Saginaw costs more. It's heavy and the bolts are big, do it piece by piece -- then just a few skinned knuckles, but still should send the kids inside. Just a temporary inconvenience though compared to the constant shame of having a rice burner tractor! (also a joke).

hang on to the M...

Steve
