I don't know where you were, so how cold was it? How long did you hold glow plugs on? Was the guage for glow plugs going to max? If you were near freezing point it is not unreasonable to hold glow plugs 2 min. before starting and hold on while turning engine. Remember you are using one of the pioneers of direct start diesel. Shouldn't have needed either anywhere in agricultural areas of North America this past week. Biggest reason for poor starting 560D is people not taking time for glow plugs. These are real glow plugs not toys like in Ford and Chevy pickups. I have held them on for 4 minutes in real cold weather. These guys that say never to either on diesels never had much to do with them at -20, -30, etc.
