Jeff, Thanks for looking that up. I have the BN parts manual, and it shows a good break-apart of the shaft; however, it doesn't show how the interior of the housing is machined/cast. I did manage to get it out, and the only way it can come out is through the rear. The reason for this is a machined "stop" for the outer bearing (in the housing). I did a stupid thing, too: I used a hammer (not brass) directly on the end of the shaft and mushroomed it a little. I managed to file it back down, so we'll see what happens. The PTO shaft oil seal I'm replacing is pretty thick, so I'm waiting with baited breath to see what it costs. Thanks for your help.
