The piston on this cylinder if its the same as on our 1066 is only pressed onto the rod. Ours was knocked off center one time 15/16 yrs ago making it steer to far one way and not far enought the other. All I did was press the piston back to its proper position on the rod and we put a new seal kit in it when I had it apart. Its a very tite press fit. Good Luck
