Hey guys...a while back I posted about the IH fire truck I was buying. I got a 1947 KB-7 with fire apparatus instead of the R-190. It is in southern Illinois near Cairo. I have the option of spending $600-800 getting the truck moved or spending the money to have the truck checked out and put into good operating condition and then picking it up and driving it home. I like the second option more all the time. If I have to spend the money, why not put it into the truck rather than the pockets of a hauling company. As far as I know, the only thing it really needs is a brake leak fixed and maybe a new set of tires on the front. But it would be nice to have everything checked out first. Anyone know of a reputable shop that could tune up the engine, check out the cooling system, brakes, tires, etc to ready the truck for a 400 mile trip? Thanks! BB
