farmall (a) clutch, which way does it go ?

Im putting the clutch back in my (a), I dident pay attention when I took it apart ! The clutch disc is made like any other one side of the splines in the disc is flush with the clutch plate where as the other side of the cluth plate splines extend beyond the disc about one inch, which way does the clutch plate install ? my wonderful reprint manual explains everthing about the clutch except which way the disc installs, I know that the new dischs are usually marked as install this side towards fly wheel.
any help greatly appreciated.
