Have been plugging along, replaced the seals/gaskets in the hydraulic pump and everything seems to be working just fine. Discovered the hard way that the carb float had a pin hole, fixed that & got everything back running yesterday. Retorqued the head & gapped the valves. Cranked her up and decided to adjust the timing. When I turned the distributor, she went to running so smoothly that several other folks around dropped what they were doing and came over in awe over how good she sounded. I honestly have never heard a Farmall run so great! I'm pretty sure I'll have to advance the spark some when I get it under a load, but it sure is music to the ears to hear her purring like she does right now sitting in the barn. Mechanically, I've got everything back into running order. I now need to start the tear down for the final clean-up and paint job. Hope everyone checked out the "Updated Restoration Page" post today, http://www.ytmag.com/farmall/messages/339751.html What an inspiration!!! He's really got the "never say die" attitude! Thanks for everyone's advice. I continue to read the posts daily and learn something new every day.
